Silom Road, Bangkok is a great place to walk in the evenings if you enjoy people watching. Especially the Thai office workers in the area. In this video, I walked in a big circle from and to the Sala Daeng BTS station. The route was:

1. Silom Road
2. Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road
3. Sathorn Tai Road
4. Convent Road

It’s a nice little walk and you get a good taste of Bangkok’s CBD (Central Business District). The sky bridge at Chong Nonsi BTS station is of particular note as you get a very good view of the nearby office buildings. Note. The blue building which looks like it has pieces missing from it is the King Power Mahanakhon Building. This 78-floor building was recognized as the tallest building in Thailand until the Magnolias Waterfront Residences at ICONSIAM broke the record in 2018 with a height of 317 meters.

Since I was walking in the early evening you can see a lot of the office workers making their way back home. Also, rain was coming! Right at the start of the video, there was some very light rain and wind. There was very heavy rain in this area shortly after I left. I plan to capture a serious storm in the next few weeks. Since it’s rainy season right now this should easily be accomplished.

A couple of notable sights walking back to Silom Road, Bangkok…

Towards the end of the video, while I was walking down Convent Road, I went into the Christ Church. This is an English speaking Anglican church. I also went into one of my favorite restaurants, Indigo. If you’re looking for reasonably priced French food, and a charming atmosphere, this is the place to go! Note. Bangkok doesn’t generally do reasonably priced French food. If you want anything decent you have to be prepared to pay. And pay high.

The thing that I took from this walk is that Bangkok is starting to look more ‘normal’. The streets were pretty crowded, as per usual, and the Sathorn area was a glorified car park. Normality? Maybe not, but something approaching it…

Not a vlog. No talking. Just Bangkok. Pure and unedited.

Feel free to suggest an area in Bangkok for me to walk around. I can explore more of Silom Road, Bangkok if you like!
